We're seeking a dedicated Therapist to join our Family Preservation Services team. In this role, you'll provide trauma-informed mental health services to children, youth, and families while helping build resilience, stability, and hope across the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

 

As a Therapist, you'll provide comprehensive mental health services in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, clinics, and community environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices
  • Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing behavioral health support
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, childcare providers, and community partners
  • Advocate for children and families while helping reduce barriers to care
  • Coordinate services and participate in interdisciplinary case planning
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation and meet program expectations
  • Participate in supervision, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Support agency initiatives and collaborative team efforts

Depending on program assignment, responsibilities may also include:

  • School-based mental health services
  • Home-based family intervention
  • Early childhood attachment-focused treatment
  • Enhanced foster care services
  • Community outreach and case coordination

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Licensed to practice therapy in Michigan, or actively working toward licensure
  • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches
  • Experience providing individual, family, and/or group therapy
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in community-based settings

Preferred

  • Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Experience with foster care, adoption, or family preservation services
  • Knowledge of community resources and systems of care
  • Experience with trauma-informed treatment approaches

Early Childhood Attachment Program Candidates

  • Current MI-AIMH endorsement or willingness to pursue Level II endorsement through an IMH Waiver
